These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the fourtn. mobile application (“fourtn.”, “the app”). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What fourtn. is
fourtn. is a personal money planning tool that helps you organise your pay, bills, and savings goals across pay periods. All data is stored on your device. The app has no accounts, no cloud sync, and does not connect to your bank.
Not financial advice
fourtn. is not a financial advisor and does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or any other form of professional advice.
Anything shown in the app, including leftovers, safe-to-spend amounts, tax estimates, pay split suggestions, scenario simulations, or any other figure or recommendation, is provided as a planning aid only. It is based entirely on the information you enter and on general assumptions built into the app.
You should not rely on fourtn. to make important financial decisions. Before acting on anything you see in the app, please consult a qualified financial advisor, accountant, or other professional who can consider your specific circumstances.
The app may be wrong
We work hard to make fourtn. accurate and useful, and we are continuously improving it. Even so:
- Calculations may contain bugs or errors.
- Tax estimates are based on general rules and may not reflect your actual tax position.
- Pay date projections assume regular pay cycles and may not match real-world payroll variations.
- Anything based on dates, frequencies, or your inputs can be miscalculated if those inputs are wrong, missing, or out of date.
You are responsible for verifying any number, date, or recommendation in the app before acting on it. We do not guarantee that any figure shown is correct, complete, or up to date.
Your data is your responsibility
Because fourtn. stores everything on your device:
- You are responsible for keeping your device secure.
- You are responsible for backing up your data if you want to preserve it. The app offers an export feature for this purpose.
- If you delete the app, lose your device, or reset it, your data may be lost permanently. We have no copy of it and cannot recover it.
Acceptable use
You agree to use fourtn. only for lawful, personal purposes. You will not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app’s normal operation, except where this is expressly permitted by law.
In-app purchases (tips)
The app offers optional tips through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Tips are one-off purchases and are non-refundable except where required by law. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
Intellectual property
The fourtn. app, its name, branding, code, and design are the property of the developer. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the app to you. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including any financial decisions you make based on information shown in the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In those cases, the limits above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Changes to the app
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also stop offering the app entirely. Where reasonable, we will give notice of major changes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will change the date at the top and may require you to re-accept them inside the app. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in Australian courts, unless a different forum is required by law.
